| Ivory's Story |
| I was first placed in foster care at the age of four. My mother has bi-polar disorder and a myriad of other psychiatric
illnesses that kept her from caring for me. I have been in several foster homes and one shelter. I have been to countless elementary schools. The longest foster home was for about six years.
It was a kinship care home - a great place. Now, I am a sophomore at the University of Pittsburgh where I will be a Resident Assistant in the fall. I am excited to mix psychology and social
work in order to create colossal change in the foster care system! You can read more about me in this Pittsburgh Post-Gazette article:

| How has having a laptop helped you in school? |
| My laptop has been an incredible help to me during my first year of college. To begin, it was FREE! One less
financial burden to take care of. Also, I have used it to write papers, create PowerPoint presentations, to fill out applications, and to do work for my jobs. I love my laptop. I use it everyday
and I do not know what I would do without it!
|
| What are your plans after graduation? |
| I hope to go to graduate school after I attain my bachelors degrees. Because I want to intermingle psychology and
social work, I plan to get my M.S.W. and then pursue my PH. D. in Developmental Psychology, perhaps. Then live happily ever after!
